Philippians 2:5-11 (NIRV)

"As you deal with one another, you should think and act as Jesus did.
In his very nature he was God. Jesus was equal with God. But Jesus didn’t take advantage of that fact. Instead, he made himself nothing. He did this by taking on the nature of a servant. He was made just like human beings. He appeared as a man. He was humble and obeyed God completely. He did this even though it led to his death. Even worse, he died on a cross!
So God lifted him up to the highest place. God gave him the name that is above every name. When the name of Jesus is spoken, everyone will kneel down to worship him. Everyone in heaven and on earth and under the earth will kneel down to worship him. Everyone’s mouth will say that Jesus Christ is Lord. And God the Father will receive the glory." Traveling to Australia

My mom drove me to the airport on Thursday, with a stop to pick up Uchoti’s suitcase and a stop for lunch/dinner at Outback Steakhouse! We got to the airport fairly early, and hung out and waited for Caytie and her family to bring her. We left Minnesota, bound for LAX and then Sydney. The flight from MSP to LAX was fairly smooth, and we landed with plenty of time to walk a little and go to the bathroom. The flight from Minnesota landed right next door to our flight leaving for Sydney, so that was nice! However, the flight to Sydney had a slight problem…Delta, for some reason, had un-booked everyone for our original flight number and re-booked everyone on another flight number, but it was the same plan and gate!!! This ended up screwing up everyone’s seats! Caytie and I no longer had a window, but the middle and isle. However, the poor guy next to (at the window) had previously been in either first or business class and got bumped back to coach, so no complaining here, at least we got on the flight!

Our flight from LAX to SYD was scheduled for 15 ½ hours. Because of the seating issues and re-issuing of tickets, our flight left 1 ½ hour late (we sat on the plane at the gate), so we didn’t land in Sydney until 10 am (instead of 8:30 am). The flight went by a ton faster than I had expected! On the back of the headrest of each of the seats was a screen, so each person had control over what they watched! There were about 30 movies or so, a ton of TV episodes, games, and music, as well as a map and stats screen that showed where we were on the flight plan and speed, temp., etc. It was pretty cool! I ended up watching The Losers and The Princess and the Frog.

We took off from LAX, and about 2 hours into the flight, they were serving us dinner! I got a yummy vodka penne pasta. I finished my movie, and went to sleep. However many hours later, I woke up to the flight attendants serving a “snack.” It was a small roll with ham and cheese, an apple, cheese and crackers, and a brownie. I watched a second movie as I ate, finished the movie, and went back to sleep! I went to sleep for about 2 more hours and then woke up as the cabin lights were turned on. We were about 1 ½ hours to 2 ours outside of Sydney, and they were waking people up to serve breakfast! I got the eggs with cheese, potatoes, ham, tomatoes, and onions, and it came with fresh fruit, yogurt (blueberry), OJ, and a croissant. After breakfast, I read some prior to landing.
