Philippians 2:5-11 (NIRV)

"As you deal with one another, you should think and act as Jesus did.
In his very nature he was God. Jesus was equal with God. But Jesus didn’t take advantage of that fact. Instead, he made himself nothing. He did this by taking on the nature of a servant. He was made just like human beings. He appeared as a man. He was humble and obeyed God completely. He did this even though it led to his death. Even worse, he died on a cross!
So God lifted him up to the highest place. God gave him the name that is above every name. When the name of Jesus is spoken, everyone will kneel down to worship him. Everyone in heaven and on earth and under the earth will kneel down to worship him. Everyone’s mouth will say that Jesus Christ is Lord. And God the Father will receive the glory." Uchoti Leaves Us Behind

I guess I better start this blog where you can find out who Uchoti is in the first place. My second year at St. Cloud State University, when I was living in the dorms on the second floor of Sherburne Hall. At that time it was the dorm and floor for the older students, 25 plus. My first year I had lived with Kim and she graduated. My second year I kept the same room and gained a new roommate, Nicole. Down the hall from us Uchoti moved in.

Over time, the friendship evolved from casual lunches and/or dinners in Garvey together to just hanging out for fun. Then she went and graduated on us and moved back down to the Cities where her sister lived. As the years (just a few) went by and Nicole and Michelle moved back home, we all seemed to lose touch with each other. In September 2007, Michelle got married and we all got together at the wedding. Our Girls' Days began shortly before then when Michelle let us know she was getting married.

However, over the few years we've had numerous Girls' Days with Uchoti, Caytie, Michelle, Nicole, and I. The last one all of us were able to make it to together took place in April. We hit California Pizza Kitchen. Uchoti's younger sister (who had somewhat recently moved to Minnesota) Bora joined us.

Uchoti is leaving soon for Australia and, although it gives Caytie and I an excuse to go and visit, we are all sad that she's leaving us. We had a great good-bye lunch at Granite City in Maple Grove where we spent hours talking and laughing. Girls' Day just will not be the same without her. We'll miss you Uchoti, but Caytie and I'll see you soon for sure!!
